Markus Enochson News Seven
Markus Enochson News Seven

Hurray for digital downloads, dj dates from Aberdeen to New York and Paris + back again, going synth and a night at the Swedish playboy mansion.

Catch me if you can?

This weekend I’m off to Aberdeen to play for the Triptych festival. Here are their (too kind) words of what they had to say about it;

“Swedish house maharishi and international DJ Markus Enochson is a leading light in Sweden's dance music culture. His familiar and inimitable melange of house and techno is renowned for confronting genre boundaries and contradicting sonic dictions within the dance vernacular. Enochson roosts within an eclectic nest, and has worked with - and recorded for - Masters at Work, Especial and Inverness' soaring house delegation Flygaric Tracks - for whom he recently released the delirious 'Crazy Pitch'.”

Saturday 30th April Aberdeen @ Snafu with Funky Transport

Wednesday 4th of May – New York @ Roots with Louie Vega and Kevin Hedge

Friday 5th of May – Los Angeles @ Bossanova with Dave Hernandez

Saturday 6th of May – TBC

And then I do my Paris DJ debut with Norma Jean Bell and MR Funky Chocolate.

Thursday 12th of May – Paris @ Underground Classics with Norma Jean Bell and Funky Chocolate

Then I return home to Stockholm to do a party with the good people of GoBang and we invite Kevin Hedge from Blaze to come dj.

Sunday 15th of May @ GoBang, Berns with Kevin Hedge

Releases – out now

Crazypitch ft Chris Long on Flygaric. An electronic track that has been working a lot of floors for a while now and the first of 2 12” with a series of additional remixes lined up for the second release.

“Potentially the biggest Flygaric release so far, this breakout 12" sees Swedish super-producer Markus Enochson drop an incredible metallic broken hip-house track with MC Chris Long. The Community Housin' version nails it down with a proper 4/4 for the acid house heads, the Freaks do their mentalist jacking thang and Rulers Of The Deep riff on the original's beats with some strange deepness” from review

You bless me ft Aaron Phiri on Crash. This release took a while to get out there but now it finally hit the shelf last week and I’m really happy about it. Dino and Terry did a really kool remix of it keeping the orginal vibe but takin the production somewhere completely different.

Listen for it ft Ingela Olsson on Ricanstruction. Before only released on the Kyoto Jazz Massive 10 year compilation which was kind of hard to get hold of if you were not living in Japan. Now its beeing released in the US featuring additional bonus material not available before. I would like to thank Louie Vega, Timmy Regisford and of course Frankie Felliciano for supporting this track.

In the production pipeline

I’m working on a lot of stuff at the moment and it feels more and more like an album is coming together. Amongst them a new track by Demetreus, a track with a very talented girl called Caroline. I’m also working on a new track with Jocelyn Mathieu and another one by Masaya. More to follow.

On the side I’m producing the album for Swedish synth band Mobile homes along side Malcom Pardon of the production team Dead Mono. This will be a bit different but I’m pretty sure you gonna like it, especially if you are older than 15 J.

Result of Poll on homepage

The result of the poll on my homepage was a devastating victory for digital downloads. 74% said that “they were part of the Techie revolution” indicating that they were for digital downloads as opposed to 26% percent stayin oldschool “No way, Vinyl Rulez”. There is a new poll on the website now for you to give your verdict on.

Berns the candle at both ends

Yet additional Pictures have been posted in the picture section of my homepage. There are now pictures also from a nite at Berns, Stockholm Sweden as well as the previous selection from Miami WMC 2005, German and Austrian gigs.
